About

Starting in late February the American and Hickory Shad begin to make their way from the depths of the Atlantic Ocean into the rivers and creeks of Eastern North Carolina for their annual spawn. We target these fish on the Tar River and Roanoke River using fly rods and ultra-light spinning rods. Shad fishing is revered for its simplicity and high volume catches- we see 100-fish days every season. We use 16' - 20' skiffs to access the best sections of the river and provide a comfortable fishing platform. This is also a great fishery for anyone looking to swing a two-hand Spey or switch fly rod! This is a 6-hour trip being at 9 am and ending at 3 pm. 2 anglers. All gear, snacks, drinks, and local craft brews are provided. 3/4 Day (6-7 Hours): $600

Cancellation Policy

We do require a $200 deposit to be paid per trip. This is a non-refundable deposit except in the event of inclement weather (to be determined by your guide only). If a trip is canceled the deposit may be used towards a future trip.
